Overview
Bronchogen is a synthetic tetrapeptide bioregulator (Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu, AEDL) from the Khavinson family, designed to model peptides found in lung and bronchial tissue. It is studied for respiratory cell repair and age-related lung decline. The proposed mechanism involves the peptide entering the cell nucleus, binding directly to specific stretches of DNA, and modulating gene expression in bronchial cells, including lung-identity and secretory genes such as NKX2-1, SCGB1A1, SCGB3A2, FOXA1 and FOXA2.
