Overview
A 28-amino-acid peptide originally isolated from the thymus gland that works as an immune modulator rather than a stimulant. It signals through toll-like receptors (TLR9 and TLR2) on dendritic cells, pushing naive T cells toward a Th1 profile, boosting natural killer cell activity, and improving antibody responses. It can also promote regulatory T cells via the IDO pathway, restoring immune balance. Approved in 30+ countries as Zadaxin for chronic hepatitis B, but not FDA approved in the United States.
