Overview
GB-115 (also known as Ranquilon, N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester) is a synthetic dipeptide anxiolytic developed in Russia, described as a retro-analogue of cholecystokinin-4. It acts as an antagonist at cholecystokinin (CCK) receptors, specifically CCK-1 and CCK-2 (CCK-B), blocking CCK from triggering anxiety and panic-like signaling. This mechanism is distinct from the GABA system targeted by classic sedatives like benzodiazepines. It has been studied in animals and a small pilot human study but is not FDA approved or widely available outside Russia.
