Overview
A hormone receptor activator that works directly in the brain by activating melanocortin receptors (MC3R and MC4R) in the hypothalamus and limbic system to enhance neural pathways involved in sexual desire and arousal. Unlike PDE-5 inhibitors that work peripherally on blood flow, PT-141 acts centrally. FDA-approved as Vyleesi for treating hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women.
