Overview
A synthetic 34-amino-acid analog of parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) that acts as an anabolic osteoporosis drug, building new bone via the PTH type 1 receptor (PTHR1). Engineered to favor the RG-bound receptor conformation, producing a more transient signal that pushes osteoblast-driven bone formation while triggering less osteoclast-driven resorption than teriparatide. FDA approved for osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk for fracture.
