Overview
Eloralintide (also known as GSBR-1290, Eli Lilly code LY3841136) is an investigational, long-acting, selective amylin receptor agonist for obesity. It is engineered to selectively switch on the amylin receptor (calcitonin receptor paired with RAMP) in appetite-control regions of the brainstem and hypothalamus, resulting in reduced food intake and earlier satiety. Unlike GLP-1 drugs, amylin agonists appear to drive weight loss with less nausea and vomiting. Phase 2 results showed weight loss up to 20.1% at 48 weeks with favorable tolerability. Not yet FDA approved; Phase 3 trials are beginning.
