Overview
Pemvidutide (also known as ALT-801) is a dual GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist peptide that binds to both GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, activating Gs proteins to increase cAMP. This stimulates insulin secretion, reduces appetite, delays gastric emptying, and increases energy expenditure. It is being investigated for MASH, obesity, and ALD and is not yet FDA-approved.
